oops!

I messed up my web template over the weekend, and now I’ve decided I was tired of it, anyway, so I’ve reverted to my old style.

This little box held some electronic purchase, I think. I liked the way the two top pieces framed the whole thing, so I started layering each piece with a different kind of paper. The bottom layer is watercolor-stained rice paper, the middle is scraps from a dress pattern, and the top is plain newspaper. The […]

I was suddenly struck that this photo would be a great model for me to practice drawing. This is one of my favorite window shopping places. By that I mean I like to peer through the windows when the shop is closed, as it usually is when I walk by. I might be tempted to […]

I follow this sign most days when I walk. Things seem to turn out ok, though. Sometimes you have to follow the arrow and not the writing on the wall. Sometimes the opposite is true. If I go around the other way and pass the sign going the opposite direction does that mean I’m now […]

Three on a match

Is it an ice cream sundae? Or a comb representing a hair salon? I shot this in Deep Ellum a couple of weeks back, but neglected to note anything about the building it was attached to. I was probably attracted to the shiny red cherry, but on reflection it’s a cool little logo. And it’s […]

Sometimes it’s a fine line between inspiration and despondency. I’ve been balanced there the last week or so. Have not given up this blog; just working on two others to satisfy the historical enquirer in my soul. Of course it’s still all about ME.

binface

One of the few things I miss about living in Dallas is finding and photographing grafitti. I rarely see any in McKinney. Every once in a while though, I do spy something, like this face on a trash bin.
