Handcrafted Cattails & Backroads Myths
I have been making up stories with clipped type since I was a teenager, so this month’s GPP Street Team creative crusade on “Text Messaging” was right up my alley. I usually prefer black and white type, but the last few weeks of hot weather have turned the shrubbery around here to dry yellow so I was attracted to soothing shades of green this time. We’re in the midst of our summer crunch at work, too, so I clipped words about things I’d rather be doing. I had to turn the page upside down to fill some of the spaces, so it turned out to be readable from all directions. Thanks for the suggestion, Michelle; the break from work was just what I needed!

The green is very refreshing. The different directions of the text adds visual interest. It certainly has the feel good factor.

Marcia..I love the greens. They all work so well together to make an interesting and fun page. Thank you for your comments. I smiled about your comment on the “zebra stripes”. I didn’t intentionally make them to look like that…however, after I had done them and looked at the page I saw the stripes. So funny!

I really like your colour scheme. Also the upside down text that says ‘focus on seeing’ because you really do have to concentrate to see it. Great!

You say you were attracted to the greens because of the weather making things die off - I wonder if the plant related words were deliberate as well? I guess so, but if not, it’s amazing how our minds work.
I think this is a lovely soothing page; I really like it. Nice work!

Wow, how cool that you combined green texts and backgrounds like this, neat! I haven’t had time to make a page yet, I hope I will before the month is over though. ![]()
