I feel I’ve been going in circles the last week. Maybe that’s why I’ve been making lots of circles! I finally decided I needed to knuckle down and learn Illustrator. The rep at Adobe assured me my more-than-ancient version qualified for upgrade to CS4 even though their website said differently, so that’s what I ordered. Who wouldn’t prefer to save $400? Well, the upgrade couldn’t recognize my old serial number when I tried to install the new software, and I subsequently spent 3 1/2 hours on the phone over two days with Adobe techs who finally told me I needed a full version, not an upgrade. Aaargh, I say… I would have ordered the full version in the first place had it not been for the recommendation of the rep. I went through their procedures, filled out the forms, and now I’m waiting for my refund so I can get the correct version. In the meantime I’ve been doing some Illustrator tutorials at work during our downtime. I wonder if it will ever feel as natural for me as Photoshop does.
