thought collage
I’ve been suffering with a cold and a considerable case of the blahs. My head hurts. I’m coughing. I think a lot about how I’m not making any progress on my art projects.
There was some beautiful light coming through the front window, so I assembled a few of my odd pieces of junk and came up with another project I want to work on. I think this would make a cool series; bottle caps and old magazine ads. I love those old 1890 ads for cocaine and snake-oil. Whether I will ever start the project is questionable. Right now I just want my sinuses to clear.

This collage made me sad. I love keeping “memory junk” but, because of moving so often, I don’t have much of those pieces that just stick to you and keep your memory (as opposed to you keeping them). I don’t know where you found these objects (in your attic?), but if I were to compose a collage of personal memory junk I won’t be able to. I feel so scattered because my souvenirs are scattered.
