back home again

I thought I was never gonna get out of that time warp. It’s been six weeks since I’ve had internet access except at work. Six weeks since I’ve been able to access Facebook, MySpace, or my own blog. Whew! I don’t want to try that again for awhile.

It was still winter six weeks ago when I moved out of my house so the foundation and a multitude of other problems could be fixed. I initially thought everything would take less than three weeks, but what do I know about construction? The weather wasn’t cooperative in those first few weeks. It snowed twice in one week and we had a day of deluge in which the rain and wind beat unceasingly against my poor old house for hours on end. Now it’s spring, and the house is fit to live in again.

We’ve been back for a week but it’s taken that long to find all the parts to re-connect to the internet. I searched all the desk drawers, the kitchen cabinets, and the closets. I just knew I had put the parts somewhere that would make them easy to find. Yep, right there in the bottom of the tall dirty-clothes basket.
