attack, worm!

I’m gonna sic my attack-worm on somebody.

I’m always searching for podcasts at work to help relieve the monotony of long hours sitting at a computer. I’ve been listening to something called “Wormwood: A Serialized Mystery” (http://www.wormwoodshow.com/) for a few weeks and I have to say I just don’t get it. The cliched premise started out with a bit of confused promise, but as each episode passed, it became more and more weird. I mean, I enjoy a good vampire story as much as the next person, and the “Muddy Man” seemed to be an eerie-enough villain that I wondered what it might be. After 15 episodes though, I’m done with it. The story goes on and on and on with no end in site. I think a different person writes each episode, making up their own plot twist as they go. Either someone is killed or something supernatural happens without a clue as to why……. In a way it’s like watching “LOST” except the characters on “LOST” are much more likeable (even Ben). Is it just me or is this what entertains people nowadays?

I’ve nearly given up on popular entertainment.

I found your site and comments on our show and just wanted to drop you a quick line. I appreciate that you’ve listened to 15 episodes of Wormwood so far. I can understand your feelings over the strange and weird events that take place from episode to episode, and how that could seem like our collection of writers are stringing the audience along as we ride this endeavor out. And that’s a noted concern as we wrap up our first season: Wormwood Season One is designed to play as a long-form novel of sorts. We’re not looking for the episodic wrap-up with each weekly installment, but are gunning for one big conclusion to the season. I hope that your feelings over story ramblings would be calmed by the season end, which is coming soon. In fact, just after you stopped listening, episode 16 begins our third arc and really starts revving towards our finale… where many answers are given. But as we’ve mapped out three complete seasons before starting to write the first episode, we do open new mysteries as we close them. Currently, episode 21 is available, and we’re ready to drop the final (24th) episode in a couple of weeks.

Again, I really do appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment.

We do have a plan.

ok, ya talked me into finishing Season One.

I haven’t decided yet if I’m going to give up on “LOST” this year: maybe I will; maybe I won’t.
