It’s raining today and I’m not going to work. There was hardly anything to do yesterday except to babysit the output machine, so I called in to see if there would be anything for me to do today. There isn’t. I was bored stiff yesterday and didn’t look forward to a day with even less to do, and I would have to drive in messy traffic on rain-slicked highways, so the idea of staying home drinking hot tea and napping a bit sounded pretty good. I guess I will have to use one of my few remaining vacation days as I can’t really afford to take a day off without pay.
I try not to gripe too much here but I’m mad at my employer for sticking us with my most unfavorite insurance company as our medical provider. I had this provider at two previous companies I worked for and all I can say is “it sucks.” It’s time for my annual checkup and I’m informed that as of two weeks ago my doctor no longer accepts this particular insurance. That’s what happened both times I had this insurance previously. There are few providers to choose from and rarely are they female; the doctor I choose ends up leaving the program; it’s impossible for me to maintain any kind of relationship with a physician. And the website for re-filling prescriptions for mail-order discount also sucks. It won’t recognize my id number; the techs at the phone number say I’m supposed to register with Kansas City, not Florida (last time it was just the opposite); I finally re-fill my prescriptions by phone and they only send me one of them.
So before I take my nap & drink my tea, I’ve got to find a new doctor and try to get my other prescription re-filled. Oh, maybe I’ll do that AFTER my nap.
