bales

The land is pretty flat out here on the prairie. For the last few months I’ve enjoyed looking at the bales of hay scattered about some of the larger tracts of grassland. They look so pretty when the sun shines on them in the morning or late afternoon. I have a photo I took of a hay bale at my brother’s old house in Fort Worth where the light is so beautiful I can’t stop admiring my good luck at taking that shot. A few weeks back I trudged out to a pasture one morning to shoot the hay bales there. Unfortunately for me they just weren’t that photogenic up close. Maybe it was the haze that lurked over everything. (or was that pollution?) I think it was mainly the ugly greenish net that they had wrapped around the bales to hold them together. I never knew they did that. I shot a whole bunch of pics and this is the only one that comes close (but not THAT close) to my original favorite hay bale shot.
I’m off again today to explore the county.
